The Seated Thoracic Mobility Test measures the ability of the neuromuscular system to control the range of motion at the site of the thoracic spine.
Equipment Required: Doorway, dowel rod
Procedure:
- Participant sits cross-legged in an empty doorway, facing the door frame.
- Participant holds dowel rod at chest height with their arms crossed.
- Participant, without leaning forward or bending their spine, rotates to their right to tap the dowel rod on the left side of the door frame.
- Participant passes the test if they can touch the door frame without compromising their position. Participant fails the test if they cannot the door frame without leaning forward or bending their spine.
- Participant inputs whether they passed or failed the test for the right side into SharedGoals by clicking on the green “Add score” button.
