10 Mile Time Trial

Aerobic Capacity, Shorter times are better

The 10 Mile Time Trial measures aerobic capacity by measuring how quickly an individual can cover a distance of 10 miles on a static bike.

Equipment Required: Indoor cycling bike with distance measurement, stopwatch

Procedure:

  1. Participant performs a short warm-up following a RAMP protocol.
  2. Participant starts the timer, then begins to pedal at a challenging yet sustainable pace on the static bike, and continues to do so until they have completed a distance of 10 miles.
  3. Participant stops the timer once the 10 miles has been covered.
  4. Participant inputs their time into SharedGoals by clicking on the green “Add score” button.
