Supine Overhead Reach Test (Left Side)

The Supine Overhead Reach Test measures the ability of the neuromuscular system to control the range of motion at the shoulders.

Equipment Required: Flat non-slip surface

Procedure:

  1. Participant lies on their back with their legs straight.
  2. Participant lifts their left arm straight overhead.
  3. Participant passes the test if they can lay their left arm flat on the ground whilst overhead without arching their back or lifting their chest. Participant fails if their left arm moves out away from their head, their back arches, or their chest lifts.
  4. Participant inputs whether they passed or failed the test for the left side into SharedGoals by clicking on the green “Add score” button.
