Supine Straight Leg Raise Test (Left Side)

The Supine Straight Leg Raise Test measures the ability of the neuromuscular system to control the range of motion at the hips.

Equipment Required: Flat non-slip surface

Procedure:

  1. Participant lies on their back with their legs straight and arms by their sides.
  2. Participant lifts the left leg towards the ceiling, whilst keeping the right leg on the floor and both legs straight.
  3. Participant passes the test if the entirety of the left foot surpasses the kneecap of the stationary right leg. Participant fails the test if the entirety of the left foot does not surpass the kneecap of the right leg, or they cannot keep either leg straight.
  4. Participant inputs whether they passed or failed the test for the left side into SharedGoals by clicking on the green “Add score” button.
